This time last year I worked on an editorial feature ‘Deco Days’ for Northeast based magazine Loved Up. It was a chance to look back at vintage hair and makeup styles of the 1920’s and 30’s.
Long hair was often worn low on the nape of the neck – swept into a chignon either by twisting or plaiting. At the front, hair was divided into a deep side parting and set into rolls or curls to shape around the face. I kept the makeup minimal and classic around the eyes focussing more on a beautiful lip colour for a contemporary feel to the final look.
I think these styes are fabulously romantic and perfect for a summer bride with loose curls like you see here or equally suited to a winter bride with more formal shaping around the face.
Stunning hair accessories were kindly supplied by Kathryn Russell – designer/maker of the most exquisite headdresses and all things beautiful.
